Custom Integrators Are Finally Getting the Warranty Protection They’ve Always Wanted

SureBright built Whole System Warranty specifically for custom integrators. ProSource and HTSA have signed on - and the market is starting to shift.

Ask any custom integrator about warranty conversations, and you’ll likely get the same exasperated look. A client who invests serious money in a whole-home AV system or smart home buildout is entitled to ask a perfectly reasonable question: "what happens if something stops working?"

For years, the answer to this has been some version of “it’s complicated.” It depends on which component failed, which manufacturer’s warranty applies, whether labor is covered, and whether the client still has the right paperwork.

That is hardly a confidence-inspiring answer - and it’s exactly why the custom integration channel has needed a different approach to warranties for a long time. SureBright launched the Whole System Warranty to address that gap, and the early response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Recognition from the channel

The urgent need for a system-level approach is precisely why SureBright has been gaining rapid momentum.

Residential Systems, one of the leading trade publications for the custom integration industry, included SureBright in its 2026 Companies to Watch list. The recognition came alongside the announcement of SureBright's partnership with ProSource, the largest buying group in the AV and custom integration space.

“ProSource members have long sought a comprehensive warranty and service plan to best address their customer’s long-term needs. SureBright has been very well received by our membership as an ideal solution that fits their specific needs. From extended warranties, shipping damage plans to whole system coverage plans, SureBright gives ProSource members a significant tool to offer the best level of support in the industry. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership,” said Jim Pearse, ProSource.

Hot on the heels of that announcement, HTSA, which represents some of the most established custom integration dealers in the country, has also added SureBright as a formal service partner.

The partnership gives HTSA members direct access to Whole System Warranty and positions warranty revenue as a concrete, repeatable benefit the group can point to. For HTSA members, it is a ready-built revenue line that requires no upfront investment and no change to how they run their installations.

“We’re thrilled to bring SureBright into the HTSA ecosystem as a valued service partner,” said Jon Robbins, Executive Director of HTSA. “Their extended warranty platform is a smart, seamless solution that gives our members a tangible way to grow incremental revenue while delivering even greater value to their customers. That’s exactly the kind of forward-thinking, results-oriented resource we strive to provide our community.”

A meaningful industry signal

Both ProSource and HTSA are highly selective about the vendors they bring into their networks and dealers inside those groups know that.

In an industry where buying groups carefully vet the companies they endorse, appearing in both ecosystems within the same year is a meaningful signal. It suggests that warranty protection is becoming more than an afterthought - it is increasingly viewed as part of the overall customer experience.

“When a dealer installs a system in a customer's home, the client isn’t buying components, they’re buying confidence that the whole thing works and keeps working,” said Manish Chauhan, CEO and Co-Founder, SureBright. “That’s the problem we built Whole System Warranty to solve. One plan, one claim process, no gaps between components. Our ProSource and HTSA partnerships mean we can now put that in front of the dealers who need it the most.”

The problem with single-device warranties

Standard warranty models were built for traditional retail: one customer, one product, inside one box. But custom integration doesn't work that way.

A typical smart home installation weaves together a dozen or more components from different manufacturers, all functioning as a single ecosystem. When a glitch occurs, clients don’t care which individual device failed - they just know their system isn’t working.

This disconnect between the client experience and fragmented manufacturing warranties has long been a source of friction. Sorting out who covers what can easily take longer than the actual repair.

SureBright’s Whole System Warranty solves this by protecting the entire installation under a single umbrella. It features one streamlined claim process and a single point of contact, meaning no manufacturer handoffs and no paperwork chases.

What’s covered:

  • Mechanical and electrical breakdown, including labor costs
  • Accidental damage, including spills, drops, and cracks on eligible items
  • Power surge protection from the date of purchase
  • Professional re-installation when needed
  • Replacement or reimbursement when a repair is not an option
  • No receipts or product registration required to file a claim
  • $0 deductible on the first claim, $50 per claim after that

A real revenue line for dealers

The comprehensive coverage is only half of the story. SureBright structured the program to ensure that dealers always stay at the center of the client relationship. While SureBright handles the policy, financial risk, and claims process, the dealers handle the service work - and get paid for it.

Best of all, onboarding is friction free. Setup takes under 10 minutes and connects directly with D-Tools Specific, and Portal.io. Dealers have 30 days after an install to add coverage, and warranty revenue hits the dealer’s account first, and SureBright invoices after the fact ensuring dealers remain in control.

Where things are headed

Ultimately, the ProSource and HTSA partnerships do more than just expand market access; they reflect a broader industry realization. System-level protection is simply a better, cleaner fit for how modern smart homes are designed, sold, and supported.

For integrators who have spent years navigating the limitations of single-device retail warranties, SureBright finally offers a definitive, elegant answer to the question their clients have always asked.
